Waybook vs Trainual: price and who each fits
Waybook publishes its prices and Trainual does not, so a dollar-for-dollar comparison stops at Trainual's one-time $1,000 implementation fee. Waybook Core is $119 a month billed monthly or $99 a month billed annually, for 20 members, with $6 or $5 a month for each extra member, as read on October 17, 2026. Trainual's pricing page shows no plan price: its plans are Core, Pro, Premium and Enterprise, and each has a Get a demo button.
| Question | Waybook | Trainual |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Core $119 a month billed monthly, $99 billed annually | No public price; every plan by demo |
| Fee to start | Self-led setup included; Guided Implementation $1,500 optional | One-time $1,000 implementation fee |
| Trial | 7-day free trial | Demo only |
| Version history | Step revisions on every plan, Version History on Pro | 30 days on Core, 90 on Pro, unlimited on Premium |
| Review reminders | Review dates on Pro | Content verification reminders on Core |
| Team size | Sold from 20 members | Best suited to 25 to 1,000 employees, per Trainual |
Trainual says it is best suited to companies with 25 to 1,000 employees. A team under 20 pays for all 20 members on Waybook Core or Pro, and a member is anyone with a login. The Waybook review covers that limit.

Trainual states that a one-time implementation fee of $1,000 applies. Waybook includes Self-Led Implementation, with a kickoff call, in the plan price, and sells Guided Implementation as an optional $1,500 service.
Training in each: tests, paths and groups
Waybook includes Tests & Assessments and Learning Paths on every plan. A Learning Path orders Documents and Tasks for a role and can be assigned to member groups or to individuals, with fixed due dates and completion reports. Trainual lists due dates and testing, tracking and reporting on its Core plan, and it trains by group (role, department, location). Individual training paths start on Trainual's Pro plan.
Each has something the other's pages do not document. Trainual's help center says every plan has completion certificates, and it documents a completion expiry date that resets everyone assigned to 0%. Waybook's pages describe no certificate feature or expiring completion; its nearest tools are Reset Progress and, on Pro, recurring deadlines. Waybook, in turn, publishes prices and offers a self-serve trial. Trainual alternatives lists other tools with public prices.
Keeping SOPs current: review reminders and version history
Waybook's Document Verification with Review Dates is a Pro feature. An assigned reviewer re-checks a Document by its review date, and an edit cancels the verification until the reviewer approves again. Trainual lists content verification reminders on its Core plan.
For history, Waybook has step revisions on every plan and Version History on Pro. Trainual keeps version history for 30 days on Core and 90 days on Pro, with unlimited history on Premium.
Trials, demos and switching between them
Unlike Trainual, which sells through a demo, Waybook offers a 7-day free trial from its Get Started button. Trainual's pricing page invites you to book a quick demo and shows no self-serve trial. Waybook's pages do not say whether its trial needs a card.
If you need to step away, Trainual says you can place your account on hold for up to three months. Waybook, per its FAQ, can "pause your subscription and save your data for just $20/month". For a team of up to 10 members, SweetProcess is the third option: one plan with every feature at $99 a month billed monthly, against $119 for Waybook Core on the same basis, as listed in Waybook pricing.
