Waybook trains staff on SOPs and tracks who finished, while Scribe generates step-by-step how-to guides in your browser. Waybook adds tests, Learning Paths and completion tracking to a stored SOP. A Learning Path is Waybook's ordered set of Documents and Tasks for one role or topic.

Scribe prices each seat and Waybook prices a block of 20 members. Five Scribe Pro Team seats come to $145 a month billed monthly or $115 billed annually, computed from the per-seat rates. The whole Waybook Core block is $119 billed monthly or $99 billed annually, so on the same billing basis five Scribe seats cost more than 20 Waybook members.
A team under 20 still pays for the whole Waybook block, because the seat counter does not go below 20. A team of 10 pays $9.90 per member a month on Core billed annually, against $4.95 at 20 members (computed). Past 20, Core adds $6 a month per member on monthly billing or $5 on annual billing. Tests, completion tracking and learning paths
Waybook lists Tests & Assessments, Progress & Completion Tracking and Learning Paths in Core, Pro and Enterprise. Its help center describes eight question types. Five of them grade themselves: multiple choice, dropdown, fill in the blank, match answers and order answers. Long text answers and file uploads need a person, and nothing counts as complete until every question is graded.
A Learning Path can go to member groups or individuals, and Fixed Due Dates are in every plan. Reports export as CSV, PDF or XLS. Scribe's plan cards and comparison table list capture, editing, sharing and export, and none of them lists a quiz, test or completion tracking.
Capturing steps: Scribe against Waybook Shots
Capture is Scribe's whole product: Basic generates how-to guides in your browser and works with any web app. Waybook Shots is a browser extension, for Chrome and Edge per Waybook's help center, that captures your screen as you work and generates screenshots with captions. Waybook's pricing page lists Shots as included in every plan, while the Markdown copy of that page calls it an add-on, so no verdict here rests on its price.
Scribe exports PDF, HTML and Markdown, and Waybook exports PDF on every plan. Waybook's help center lists Markdown among its import formats and documents an import from Tango, but not from Scribe. Best SOP creation software compares how each tool drafts a procedure.
Which to pick for 5, 20 or 50 people
At 5 people, Scribe Basic is free and Scribe Pro Team starts at 5 seats, $145 a month billed monthly (computed). Tango Free covers up to 10 users with 5 shared workflows and no credit card required. At 20 people the Waybook Core block is full at $119 a month billed monthly, and at 50 members Core is $299 billed monthly or $249 billed annually.
Pick Scribe when the job is turning a process into a guide, with a free start on Basic. Pick Waybook when staff must be assigned the SOP, tested on it and tracked. Pick Tango for a free capture tool for up to 10 users; its plan cards list no quiz or test either. Waybook alternatives prices the other tools.
