Whale and Scribe: free plans for small or capture-only teams

Connecteam: training inside an HR app

Connecteam sells its app in hubs and prices each hub separately; HR & Skills holds courses, quizzes, documents and onboarding. Basic adds $0.6 a month per user past 30 on monthly billing, or $0.5 on yearly. A required quiz score starts at Advanced. A document review process and document expiration dates start at Expert, $119 a month billed monthly or $99 billed yearly for the first 30 users.

Connecteam's pricing page describes its free plan as up to 10 users in one place and fewer than 10 employees in another, and offers a 14-day trial with no credit card.

Trainual and Process Street: no public price

Process Street lists Startup (5 users), Pro and Enterprise, each with Contact sales. Its Pro plan starts with a 14-day trial with no credit card required. It is a workflow and checklist tool; its plan features list approvals, and its plan list shows no test or quiz.

When to stay with Waybook

Stay with Waybook when staff must be tested and tracked. Core, Pro and Enterprise all list Tests & Assessments, Learning Paths (ordered sets of Documents and Tasks for one role or topic) and Progress & Completion Tracking, plus an iOS and Android app and connections to Slack, Microsoft Teams and Zapier. Pro is $238 a month billed monthly or $198 billed annually for 20 members.

Pro adds Document Verification with Review Dates, where an assigned reviewer re-checks a Document by a set date, plus Approval Process, stages that block publishing until each signs off, and Knowledge Confirmation Steps, a step where a member confirms they have read and understood a Document. The limits to weigh: Waybook has no free plan, its Terms give no refund unless the law requires one, and a team under 20 pays for the whole 20-member block.
