Last reviewed October 17, 2026

Quick answerTrainual shows no plan price and adds a one-time $1,000 implementation fee. Waybook matches its SOPs, tests and paths with a public price; a team of 10 or fewer should price SweetProcess, and Whale has a free plan.

Trainual alternatives: five tools that show a price

Trainual shows no plan price. Its Core, Pro, Premium and Enterprise plans each say Get a demo, and a one-time $1,000 implementation fee applies. Five alternatives publish a price: Waybook, SweetProcess, Whale, Connecteam and TalentLMS. Waybook Core is $119 a month billed monthly or $99 billed annually for 20 members, as read on October 17, 2026. Trainual says it suits companies with 25 to 1,000 employees, so a team of 10 to 24 sits below its stated range.

Waybook: SOPs, tests and learning paths at a public price

Both Waybook and Trainual list due dates, tests and completion tracking on their entry plans. Waybook's tests have eight question types, and a Learning Path, an ordered set of Documents and Tasks for one role, goes to a member group or a person.

Pro is $238 a month billed monthly or $198 billed annually for 20 members, and adds Document Verification with Review Dates (an assigned reviewer re-checks a Document by a set date), Approval Process (stages that block publishing) and Knowledge Confirmation Steps (a member confirms they read a Document). Each member past 20 costs $6 a month on Core's monthly billing or $5 on annual billing, readers included.

Waybook's self-led implementation is included in the plan price, and its optional Guided Implementation is $1,500. Trainual's implementation fee is $1,000, once, and it asks for a demo where Waybook's pricing page offers a 7-day free trial. Waybook vs Trainual sets the two side by side, and the Waybook review covers every plan.

SweetProcess and Whale for smaller teams

SweetProcess is $99 a month billed monthly or $82.50 billed yearly for up to 10 members, with every feature on one plan, a 14-day trial with no credit card and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Trainual's price arrives only after a demo. SweetProcess alternatives sets SweetProcess against Waybook Core at 10, 20 and 50 members.

SweetProcess documents quizzes with one correct answer per question and sign-offs that record the signed version and the time. Whale Scale, at $399 a month billed monthly or $249 billed yearly, holds 3 creators (content builders), 5 training flows per team and role, and 15 quizzes that can be reassigned for a retry.

Trainual alternatives free to start: Whale, Connecteam and TalentLMS

Whale, Connecteam and TalentLMS each have a free plan. Whale Free has 1 creator and a limited number of members; Whale's help center says new workspaces get 14 days of Advance first. Connecteam's free plan covers about 10 or fewer users, per its pricing page; its HR & Skills Basic tier lists adding a quiz to a course and starts at $35 a month billed monthly for the first 30 users.

TalentLMS Free covers up to 5 users and 10 courses with no credit card. TalentLMS Core is $149 a month billed monthly, or $119 billed yearly, for 1 to 40 users. It is a learning-management system priced by the users who log in, not an SOP library.

What Trainual lists that Waybook does not

Trainual lists e-signatures, 300 a year, and 5 GB of SCORM storage on Pro, and completion certificates on every plan. Waybook's plan table lists no e-signature, and no Waybook page read documents SCORM or a completion certificate. Whale adds handwritten e-signatures from Advance. Trainual's Core also lists content verification reminders, where Waybook's review dates need Pro.

In the other direction, Waybook assigns Learning Paths to individuals on every plan, where Trainual lists individual training paths from Pro. Both list a mobile app on their entry plan.

Which Trainual alternative to pick

Pick Waybook for 20 to a few hundred people who need SOPs, tests and Learning Paths at a published price. Pick SweetProcess for 10 or fewer, with every feature on one plan. Pick Whale for a free plan with 1 creator, Connecteam when training sits inside an HR app, and TalentLMS for course-based training.
