A mini-course pilot checklist that can produce a no-buy decision

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-02

Quick answerDefine the behavior you need before a trial; include incorrect answers, revisions and the simplest competing route.
What to know

Prepare a fictional test pack

Use a made-up routine such as reserving a shared meeting room. Include a normal booking, an overlap and an incomplete request. Keep names, calendars and internal policies out of the pack. Write expected answers before using a generator so you can distinguish a plausible explanation from the right explanation. Our worksheets do not require you to open a merchant account or upload real business records.

What to know

Inspect the learner path

Read the prototype from start to finish without relying on the editor view. Check whether instructions precede the task, whether feedback explains the relevant rule and whether the source is reachable. Try an incorrect choice and an interrupted session where allowed. A smooth authoring demonstration is not evidence that a learner can understand the finished material on their own device.

What to know

Rehearse one source change

Change the fictional booking cut-off and inspect every affected example, question and answer. Record the time and any missed dependency. Verify what happens to shared links and previous learner records before publishing a real revision. Do not assume an AI regeneration, a new package or a saved editor change updates every place where the old lesson appears.

What to know

Choose with an explicit boundary

Your acceptance record should say which capability passed, failed or remains unknown, and whether the existing-document route was adequate. Stop before a paid commitment, sensitive upload or required integration that you cannot verify. A useful pilot may end with no purchase. If you proceed, keep its observed limitations beside the plan name and repeat only the checks affected by a later change.

What to know

Leave a compact record

Use four columns in your own notes: requirement, expected behavior, actual observation and unresolved issue. Mark an untested item explicitly. A blank result should not become a pass merely because another part of the demonstration worked well.

Continue when useful

Next: Lesson brief

Write the source and the expected decision before asking a tool to create the lesson.
